- RECOVERY- THIS PROCUREMENT IS BEING FUNDED BY THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). Recipient of this award will be subject to reporting requirements under Section 1512(c) of the Recovery Act. For more information go to www.recovery.gov and www.federalreporting.gov. THE DATES INCLUDED IN THIS ANNOUNCEMENT ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BUREAU OF RECLAMATION. ACTUAL DATES WILL BE ESTABLISHED AT THE TIME THE BID DOCUMENTS ARE AVAILABLE. The Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Region, has a requirement for construction services necessary to comply with the Life Safety Code regulations. The principal components of the work consist of:Design, furnish all material, and perform work to install new fire alarm and detection systems throughout Powerplants. Fire alarm system to include photoelectric smoke detectors, beam detectors, pull stations, audio/video notification, remote supervisory annunciation, building system controls of smoke/fire damper and other HVAC systems, and control of electromagnetic door holders. Fire alarm systems shall be integrated with existing CO2 and wet pipe sprinkler fire suppression systems. Furnish all materials and perform work to construct non-load bearing walls and ceilings. Remove existing non fire rated doors and frames. Then furnish all materials and perform work to install new fire rated doors and frames. Perform demolition work of sections of exterior concrete walls to provide openings for new doors and frames. This work is sometimes located at heights over ten feet and over water. Furnish all materials and perform work to install an emergency steel exit catwalk on the outside wall, over the tailrace, of Boysen and Kortes Powerplants. Furnish all materials and perform work to rehabilitate water piping and valves for the fire water suppression systems in the oil storage and purification rooms. Furnish all material and perform work to install fixed steel ladders for emergency egress. Furnish all material and perform work to install emergency escape hatch. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAISC) associated with this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 million. The range of magnitude for the projest is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. This procurement will be awarded using an Invitation For Bid (IFB Sealed Bid) set-forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 14. This procurement is advertised on an unrestricted basis. Bids will be accepted from all responsive and responsible small and large business concerns. An electronic copy of the solicitation is anticipated to be made available approximately on or around March 5, 2010 at www.FBO.gov. Bids are anticipated to be due on or around April 7, 2010. These dates may be subject to change at the discretion of the Bureau of Reclamation. A site visit will be offered and the date, time and location will be included in the Foreword page of the solicitaiton. Prospective contractors shall have an active registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database in order to receive award of any Federal Government contract.
