- Description
- QUESTION: 2.3.1 Is it expected that fault tolerance for a single disk failure will be achieved with the current node software RAID configuration? In our experience, swap should be configured as RAID 1 in order to allow the node O.S. to continue to run in the event of a single disk failure. NIST RESPOSNSE: Swap should be configured as originally indicated for compute nodes, RAID 0. Question: 2.3.2. Does the 125 MB/s or greater sustained transfer rate in this question refer to read, or read and write speed? NIST Response: read and write. Question: 4.1.3.3 Is the use of a debian lenny port of OFED acceptable? As the customer is most likely aware, Debian OFED implementations in the past had to be installed via alien and hand configured due to init script and other incompatibility issues when the latest OFED releases were desired. For instance, we do not recommend the use of OFED 1.5 rcX for this configuration. Do you wish OFED 1.4.1 or OFED 1.4.2 to be installed on this system? NIST Response: No specific OFED requirements, we will follow vendor recommendations. Question: 4.1.3.5 Is the Infiniband monitoring software required to be web-based? NIST Response: No, it is not required. Question: is Debian 5.0 "Lenny" a requirement; NIST Response: Debian “Lenny” is required. Question; What is generally involved with the "five years of technical support via phone and email? NIST Response: The scope of support required to fulfill specification 7.2 must include all hardware and software provided with the system.
