- Description:The VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida is seeking professional A/E services to design a project to install tactile surfaces for pedestrian walkways. The Architect/Engineer shall propose an appropriate tactile surface material for the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center location in accordance with all applicable requirements and guidelines. A drawing is provided showing possible locations for the installation of tactile surfaces. The detailed project design shall begin with an on-site physical survey of the site to confirm the locations shown in the drawings, as well as to identify any other areas that should have tactile surfaces in accordance with applicable requirements. NAICS code for this project is 541310. Designs shall include a construction phasing schedule to minimize disruptions to Medical Center operations. Designs shall be in accordance with all applicable requirements of NFPA, EPA, OSHA, National Safety Code, VA Specifications, VA Standard Details, VA Construction Standards, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Existing as-built drawings will be made available to the Architect/Engineer; however, their accuracy shall be verified by the Architect/Engineer as part of investigative services. Under a separate contract, a contractor shall prepare locations to the manufacturer's specifications and install tactile surfaces accordingly. Estimated construction costs for the actual construction contract is between $250,000 and $500,000. This A/E project is a set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and whose firm is physically located within the State of Florida. All interested vendors are required to complete Certify VetBiz registration at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov, must be registered at www.CCR.gov and complete online Reps and Certs at http://orca.bpn.gov. The SDVOSB will be notified by e-mail of any new amendments that have been issued and posted at FedBizOps. In addition Vets 100 Registration is also required and may be accessed at https://vets100.vets.dol.gov/. Submissions received not meeting these specific criteria will not be considered. This is a request for submission of SF 330's only - no request for proposals at this time. No materials other than the SF 330's will be accepted in response to this notice. The SF 330 form can be located at http://www.gsa.gov by clicking on the forms library. Firms desiring consideration for this announcement should submit their completed SF 330 to the attention of: John Hull, Contracting Officer (90C), Building 12 at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center at 7305 North Military Trail in West Palm Beach, Florida 33410-6400 by no later than Wednesday, December 23 at 1:00 P.M. Evaluation of firms will be in accordance with the criteria in FAR 36.602-1. Final selection shall be a listing of the firms considered most qualified to perform the work. Upon notification, these firms may then begin negotiations with the contracting officer in accordance with FAR 36.606.
