- This solicitation is issued under Request for Quote (RFQ) number W911S8-10-Q-0005. The MICC Fort Lewis Directorate of Contracting is hereby releasing this solicitation as a Request for Quotes (RFQ) and intends to award a firm-fixed price contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and 13, only qualified offerors may submit quotes. This solicitation is 100% Small Business Set Aside. All quotes shall reference the RFQ number and shall be submitted by 12:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time on 20 December 2009. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 2005-37 dated 14 October 2009 and Defense Change Notice (DCN) 20091019. The North American Industry Classification system code (NAICS) 315119 size standard of 500 employees. The description of the commercial item is for Merino wool socks and reads as follows: CLIN 0001, 780 Package (see size breakdown below), Merino wool hiking socks. Moisture wicking hiking sock. Minimum of 70% Merino Wool. Sock Height: Crew. Gender: Unisex; Color: Tan or Black; Size and quantity breakdown are as follow: Size Quantity Medium (6-8.5) 60 Large (9-11.5) 600 X-Large (12-14.5) 120 Acceptance will be at the destination (i.e. FOB point is destination) to the DOL Central Receiving Point, Fort Lewis, WA 98433-9500. The expected performance period is not more than thirty (30) days after date of award. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, with no obligation to the offeror by the Government. Only one award will be made to the lowest price technically acceptable offeror who meets the requirement or neutral past performance. It is our intent to evaluate offers and award without discussions; however, we reserve the right to hold discussions. Once the Contracting Officer has decided to whom an order will be issued, a unilateral order will be issued using a SF 1449. A purchase order will be in existence once the Contracting Officer has signed the order.
