Description
Contractors are invited to meet with the Heavy Brigade Combat Team leadership at the 2010 HBCT Industry Day Open House from 1300 1700 hours on Thursday, 25 February 2010 during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Winter Symposium and Exposition. Contractors interested in presenting are requested to sign-up the morning of the presentations (25 February 2010) in the Broward County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Boulevard, Room 125, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Rules for Hard Copy Presentations: * All technologies must be at TRL 5 at a minimum * All technologies must meet an 18-24 month integration schedule * All presentations must not exceed 10 minutes in length (to include time for questions), or 10 slides and focus on a specific area of consideration * All presentations will be executed in hard copy only, and will be accompanied by a business card/POC information Considerations for All HBCT Platforms: Mobility: * Fuel efficiency technologies * Power recovery innovations/options (i.e., LED lights, etc.) * Engine cooling/heat exchange * Suspension improvements * Starter/generator innovations * Vibration dampening track and/or lightweight track Power: * Power Generation * Power Management * Power Distribution * Auxiliary Power Units * On-board Auxiliary Unit (10kW-50kW) * Battery Management/Battery Monitoring Digital Architecture: * Slip ring capacity increase * Ethernet technologies * Line Replaceable Modules (LRM) * LRU consolidation Lethality/Survivability: * 360 Situational Awareness * Fire Control * Remote Weapons Station * Thermal Management * NBC Detection/Protection Training: * Embedded Training Technologies Other: * Vehicle integrator for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle: Integration of all major systems within the hull and turret * Crew Cooling * Crew Station Enhancements Facts for Vendors to Consider about Bradley Fighting Vehicles: * BAE is the Bradley OEM * Vehicle weight is currently 78k lbs. * Vehicle utilizes a 1553 data bus architecture * Current vehicle software is written in ADA * Vehicle runs on JP8 fuel * Vehicle has a very high vibration profile * Vehicle operates in extreme temperature ranges and hostile environmental conditions * Vehicle utilizes 650-800hp depending on variant Facts for Vendors to Consider about Fire Support Platforms: * PM-FSP delivers, sustains, and modernizes the Armys fire support combat vehicle with the firepower, precision targeting, mobility and survivability to the Soldier by managing the following vehicle platforms: - M1200 Armored Knight (OEM: DRS-SSI) - M109 FoV (OEM: BAE Systems) - M109 PIM (OEM: BAE Systems) - A3/M7 BFIST, MLRS Chassis (OEM: BAE Systems) Facts for Vendors to Consider About Abrams Tank: * General Dynamics Land System is the OEM for the Abrams Tank * Vehicle weight is currently 70 tons * Vehicle utilizes a 1500hp engine * Vehicle runs on JP8 fuel * Vehicle has very high vibration profile * Vehicle operates in extreme temperature ranges and hostile environmental conditions * Future improvements will be through an incremental approach and must address space, weight, and power issues Security Provisions: This market survey will be conducted at the unclassified level. No classified information will be exchanged. This is not a pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5. This notice does not constitute an Invitation to Bid or Request for Proposal and is not intended to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any costs incurred for their participation in this survey. Any information that is considered Proprietary shall be clearly marked.
