Description

Justification and Approval Public Announcement of Intent to Purchase on a Sole Source Basis. The Government intends to procure AFRL-wide Electronic access to American Institute of Physics Journals plus the following publishers: American Physics Society, American Vacuum Society, American Association of Physics Teachers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Electromechanical Society, Acoustic Society of America and Institute of Physics. NAICS: 519130, FSC: 7610, SIZE STANDARD: 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This synopsis is being published for informational purposes only. The proposed source is American Institute of Physics (AIP). The proposed action is to acquire access to all AIP Publications and their associated society publishers for which they serve as the aggregator. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the Air Force. The government will consider any quotations received within 10 days of issuance of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement, and the Government does not intend to pay for any information received in response to this announcement.
