Description
Range of project is between $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Period of Performance is 365 days from Notice to Proceed. Issuance on or about December 30, 2009. Questions concerning this project can be emailed to Donna leketa at Donna.Leketa@usace.army.mil. Building 4703, Fort Meade, Maryland: This project will be design-build. Selectively demolish of some existing controls in the mechanical room. Coordinate with Pepco Government Services (PGOV) and Trane on existing and new UMCS connections. Salvage two existing Lochinvar gas-fired boilers in the mechanical room and associated hot water pumps, and deliver this equipment to Ft. Meade DPW. Demolish all exposed heating hot water piping and appurtenances in the mechanical room. Demolish all PTAC units in the sleeping rooms, and their associated supplemental hot water heating coil, and cap the existing heating hot water piping at these units at the floor. Demolish all hot water convectors in the bathrooms and demolish and cap heating hot water piping at the floor. Demolish ceiling tiles and core drill exterior wall in the bathrooms as necessary to facilitate installation of new ceiling exhaust fans. Install new PTACs with electric heating coils in all sleeping rooms, and electric baseboard heating in all bathrooms and stairwells. Install new bathroom exhaust fans. Upgrade building electric service from transformer to building, and add a new panel for all new electric loads. Coordinate with Baltimore Gas and Electric to upgrade electric service to building transformer. Patch, repair, and replace building finishes as necessitated by the scope of this project. Install new moisture resistant ceiling tiles in bathroom. Lead and asbestos are currently assumed to be present in some areas of the building, and limited abatement will be required to facilitate the scope of this project. Building 4415, Fort Meade, Maryland: This project will be design-build. Demolish existing summer/winter switchover controls, valves, and associated appurtenances and piping. Demolish existing two-pipe fan coil units and replace them with four-pipe fan coil units. Provide new heating hot water and chilled water distribution piping as required to facilitate this scope. The existing boiler and chiller are to remain. Remove and replace all piping insulation. Provide a new split system dedicated outdoor-air system to ventilate the entire building. Replace all lay in ceiling tiles in the building. Install new control valves and thermostats on existing hot water convector units. Patch, repair, and replace building finishes as necessitated by the scope of this project. New controls installed under this contract will be Lon. Coordinate with Trane to integrate the building Lon controls into the Trane Bacnet UMCS. Available thru Federal Business Opportunities System https://www.fbo.gov/index.
