Description
National Security Technologies, LLC is seeking sources that can construct a 250,000 gallon potable/fire water storage tank including a concrete foundation, a complete grounding system and tieing the tank into an existing water system. The tank shall be welded steel with an all steel roof (aluminum roofs are not acceptable) and shall meet all applicable codes and standards for potable drinking water including the State of Nevada Requirements for a Public Water System (PWS) storage tank and the fire water requirements of National Fire Protection Association NFPA 22, "Standard for Water Tanks for Private Fire Protection." The tank design and installation will also include cathodic protection; a local solar power system for tank instrumentation and controls; and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The tank will be located at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) about 85 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada, at the approximate mean sea level (msl) base elevation of 3,945 feet. The tank shall be used to store potable and fire suppression water for a nonreactor nuclear facility at the NTS. The tank is designated as safety-class (SC) and must meet Performance Category (PC) 3 seismic requirements with respect to natural phenomena hazards as set forth in U.S. Department of Energy Standard DOE-STD-1020, "Natural Phenomena Hazards Design and Evaluation Criteria for Department of Energy Facilities." This requirement is set-aside for small business. Interested parties need to provide written qualifications identifying the ability to perform the above work, references, business size, and point of contact information to Emma Fox via fax at (702) 295-9106 or email at foxeb@nv.doe.gov no later than December 23, 2009 to be considered for this project.
