- Description
- Recovery High PRF, Micropulse Laser System for Aircraft Instrument UseThis synopsis is being provided for information purposes only.NASA Goddard has selectedFibertek Inc for the Laser Systems Engineering Services (LSES) contract, NNG09CP09C. This is an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity Cost-Plus Award Fee contract valued at$35 million. The period of performance is five years. The NAICS Code is 336419 and theSize Standard is 1,000 employees. The value of task order #6 is $704,980. Task order #6 is High PRF, Micropulse Laser Systemfor Aircraft Instrument Use.The scope of task order #6 is the development of an aircraft demonstrator/simulatorinstrument for the ICESat-2 photon-counting instrument is a high priority for theProject. Baseline platform is the high-altitude ER-2 aircraft to permit evaluation ofnumerous science and engineering trades. As such, the Project requires a lasertransmitter that is suited for such an application and is based on existing design (i.e.,is available in shortest possible schedule). This task involves building and deliveringa compact, high-repetition rate laser system that can be directly integrated to theairborne instrument. This work will be performed at the contractor's facility. This document and any other related documents to this procurement will be available overthe Internet.
