Description
RECOVERY - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO ACCESS SYSTEMS, INC. FOR THE RESASONS DESCRIBED BELOW. In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, Pub. Law 111-5, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) posts this notice of intent to issue a modification to an existing Delivery Order for the purchase of 290 additional Millions of Instructions Per Second (MIPS). The Delivery Order was issued against a previously competed contract, TIRNO-07-D-00004. This contract was awarded to Access Systems, Inc., a small business. This purchase will upgrade our existing software licenses and maintenance through September 30, 2010. This will be a firm-fixed price modification that has an anticipated value of $370,500. The additional MIPS are needed to support new workloads to the IRS mainframe environment. Mission critical tax applications will be affected by the changes implemented by the ARRA resulting in increased workload volumes and changes that will require additional processing resources. The increased workloads include processing new Business Master File tax forms and handling increased volumes of queries to support customer interactions with the IRS for other tax application systems such as Corporate File Online. This acquisition will provide the software licenses and maintenance for the additional processor capacity needed to process these workloads.
