- Description
- RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): HDT Engineering Services, Inc., W911QY-10-C-0020 for Lightweight, Flexible Cost Effective Solar Energy Photovo A firm fixed price contract has been awarded to HDT Engineering Services, Inc. 415 Wolfe St., Fredericksburg, VA in response to solicitation W911QY-BAA-09-11-1 for Topic Area 8.d for new technologies that will benefit shelter electrical systems such as high efficiency lighting and field photovoltaic systems. The research and development effort will focus on the design, development, and production of prototype single and three-phase microgrids to manage multiple EPS inputs augmented as needed by fuel-fired generators. Smart-Fault tolerance, allowing the system to continue to provide power as individual components fail or are taken off-line is a critical attribute of the grid. The microgrid will include intelligent generator controls for integrating the Tactically Quiet Generator (TQG) family into the network as a backup or as auxiliary power during periods of peak demand. Grid tie technologies will be integrated, maximizing the benefits of alternative power sources when combined with an intelligent generator network. The modularity and mobility of the system makes it applicable for many military and civilian uses, whether expeditionary or semi-permanent, and provides increased Warfighter sustainability through reduced fuel consumption and increase power reliability. The period of performance will be for twelve months commencing on December 15, 2009 through December 14, 2010.
