- Description
- Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(a)2(b), the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Campos,Celia of Framingham, MA, to provide cleaning and maintenance support in the sensory laboratory. The laboratory's purpose is to conduct research of behavior related to food, materials, and equipment particularly as it relates to food choice and quality assessment. There are protocols related to the manner of controlling the environment and presenting samples. The contractor shall provide cleaning services in the sensory laboratory, & provide set-up support to the Government personnel conducting the sensory studies in the lab. Campos,Celia possesses knowledge of the sensory lab protocols based on previous experience under contracts providing this service; and the contractor personnel have undergone specific training conducted by NSRDEC sensory lab personnel and are familiar with the intricacies of sensory panels conducted in the lab. The contractor also has knowledge with the workings of the serving software that used by the food technologist and is familiar with low level data management that is used to assist the consumer research team. It would take a considerable amount of time to train a new cleaning professional the above mentioned processes and be a disadvantage to the Government.
