- Amendment No. 3 The purpose of this amendment is to post answers to questions received. Q: The current requirements of Energy Star compliant and "heavy duty commercial type" topload washers is a requirement which cannot be met since no such product is currently made. Are we to bid with domestic topload Energy Star washers or commercial Energy Star washers which are frontloading? A: If heavy duty, commercial, energy star top load washers are available then that is preferred. If top load energy star rated washers are not available then we want to go with heavy duty, commercial, energy star, front load washers.
