- AFRL is in need of hardware to facilitate the characterization and calibration of advanced space solar cells. This hardware shall fly aboard a NASA high altitude balloon, where the sunlight is largely unaffected by the Earth's atmosphere. In addition, solar cell devices calibrated by this technique are required to adjust laboratory solar simulators in order to provide accurate measurements of advanced laboratory solar cells.
