- SOURCES SOUGHT The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research intended for use in the formulation of an acquisition. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Butler Healthcare, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, PA 16001 is seeking a company that can provide a comprehensive electronic database of manufacturer's instructions for the cleaning /reprocessing, sterilization / disinfection of medical / surgical instrumentation and equipment for a base year and at least two option years. The vendor must be capable of providing simultaneous, nation-wide access electronically from various Department of Veterans Affairs' facilities including Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), Hospitals, and VA Central Office. Access shall be for a minimum of one hundred fifty (150) sites and a maximum of three hundred (300) sites. The vendor shall maintain an accurate and up to date database with at least quarterly updates. The vendor shall poll the manufacturers at least quarterly for updates and post these to the electronic database within thirty (30) days of receipt. The vendor shall provide written Standard Operating Procedures / Technical Documents for the cleaning / reprocessing and sterilization / disinfection of reusable medical equipment / instrumentation based on the manufacturer's written instructions. The vendor shall be capable of sequestering old Standard Operating Procedures / Technical documents so that only the current Standard Operating Procedure / Technical document is available. The Vendor shall provide documentation that is at a minimum, consistent with the Joint Commission, Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN), Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) guidelines for reprocessing of reusable medical equipment / instrumentation. This synopsis is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP). Nor does its issuance restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. The information you provide will be evaluated to identify qualified potential offerors. Applicable NAICS code is 519190 size standard $7.0 million. Responses to this Sources Sought notice shall not exceed ten (10) pages and must contain: (1) A capability statement sufficient to demonstrate performance; (2) Link to the respondent's relevant GSA Schedule if GSA contract holder; and (3) Citation of current, or past customers including contract number, point of contact telephone number, or e-mail address. Responses are requested no later than close of business on December 18, 2009. Late submissions may not be considered. The preferred method of response is email to Roberta.Smiley@va.gov.
