- Project Title: Benbow/West Fork Rock Creek Hazardous Fuels Reduction – This project consists of selectively thinning trees of various sizes, including merchantable size trees, whole tree yarding trees to pre-determined landing areas over pre-identified skid trails; topping, limbing merchantable trees; and placing merchantable logs in decks to be sold separately and machine pile slash from tree cutting. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies and incidentals to perform all work necessary. The units are located on the Beartooth Ranger District of the Custer National Forest. The Benbow units are west of Red Lodge, Montana and southwest of Dean, Montana. The Rock Creek units are southwest of Red Lodge, Montana. A prebid conference will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Those interested in attending the prebid conference should meet at the Beartooth Ranger District, Highway 212 South of Red Lodge, Montana. An initial meeting will be held at the office and if conditions are conducive a site visit of the units will follow. Government estimated price range is $100,000 - $300,000. The solicitation will be available on approximately January 11, 2010 and can be downloaded from this site at that time.
