- Description
- The U.S. Department of Labor intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Sybase, Inc. The period of performance for this service is from the date of award through 9/30/2010. The Office of Job Corps intends to procure a maintenance contract for Sybase Rational Database Management System (ASE), Sybase IQ Data Warehouse, Sybase Application Server (EA Server), and Sybase Development tools. Sybase ASE and Sybase components make up the core database, data warehouse and middleware applications for SPAMIS/CDSS suite of applications. The licensing, maintenance and technical support by Sybase products and services will support the design, deployment and maintenance of the Job Corps Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Network (WAN). Sybase products are proprietary software. Sybase is the manufacturer and holds the rights and the patents. As a direct sales/service firm, Sybase is the exclusive distributor of Sybase logo licenses and provider support services to the Federal Governement and commerical market. This notice of intent is not an announcement of the availability of a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor is there an RFP available. Any interested party who believe that they can provide the required service may respond by submitting a capability statement via email to Stacy Conaway at conaway.stacy@dol.gov. The capability statement must include price information and describe in detail the party's qualifications and experience in providing the required service as described above. A determination not to compete the proposed work based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether this intended contract is a competitive procurement.
