Description
Sources Sought Notice dated 10 December is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced as follows: The Marine Corps System Command (MCSC) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) repair parts to produce the MK11 Mod 1 sniper rifle built at the Precision Weapons Section (PWS) Weapons Training Battalion. The MK11 Mod 1 is a 7.62mm, semi-automatic sniper rifle. MCSC has a current requirement for MK11 Mod1 parts and quantities shown in attachment (1). MCSC is looking for a commercial vendor that can supply all items listed in the attachment. All of the parts required in attachment (1) are Brand Name specific. The particular brand name, product, or feature is essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates other companies' similar products or products lacking the particular feature, do not meet, can not be modified to meet, the agency's needs. The contract method that the Government intends to use is a 5 year IDIQ contract, with yearly options. Attachment (1) shows the estimated quantities required each year over the 5 year period. Commercial firms possessing the capability noted above and in attachment 1 are encouraged and invited to submit a statement of capability and pricing materials. Please notate if the part is offered on GSA Schedule. Responses must include the following: corporate business size, stating whether the company is 8(a) certified, disabled veteran-owned, veteran owned, woman owned, HUB Zone, Native American, or other Small Business Administration approved designations and earliest delivery date for the products to be delivered. MSCS will use the results of this announcement to determine what capabilities exist in the marketplace to fulfill the Government's requirement outlined above. This request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only. The Government will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation or delivery of the request for information. Interested firms are requested to submit a capability statement, outlining their ability to meet or exceed this potential requirement no later than 3:00pm EST, 15 January 2010. Interested sources should send all capability statements via email to marian.beeman.ctr@usmc.mil.
