- Regional Trade Program Manager The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in South Africa requires a Regional Trade Program Manager to assist in implementing programs under the U.S. President's Global Competitiveness Initiative (AGCI) and, in the context of the Southern African Global Competitiveness Hub (Trade Hub), the initiative to End Hunger in Africa (IEHA). The Regional Trade Program Manager performs representational, technical leadership, bilateral mission support, and regional program management roles. The incumbent plays a key role in guiding project analysis and implementation, agricultural business development, strategic partnership formation, and program management through the Trade Hub based in Gaborone, Botswana. The Regional Trade Program Manager performs representational, technical leadership, bilateral mission support, and regional program management roles. The incumbent is the senior officer guiding project analysis and implementation, business development and trade, strategic partnership formation, and program management through the Trade Hub based in Gaborone As a senior and respected development professional, the Regional Trade Program Manager is responsible throughout the Southern Africa region for effective outreach and constructive relationships with Ambassadors; Mission Directors; other senior USG Agency representatives; host country counterpart officials, to include the Ministerial level; other donors, both bilateral and multilateral; and corporate executives. As a senior and widely experienced regional trade expert, the Regional Trade Program Manager is responsible throughout the Southern Africa region for ensuring that USAID development assistance programming reflects best practices and state-of-the-art knowledge about international competitiveness and trade capacity building As a senior member of the Field Office, the Regional Trade Program Manager is responsible for providing consistent, high quality, customer-friendly technical support through the Trade Hub to Embassies and USAID Missions supported by the Field Office. This includes bilateral USAID Missions in Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Madagascar, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa, and Namibia, as well as Embassies in the non-USAID presence countries of Lesotho, Swaziland, the Seychelles, Mauritius and Botswana.
