- The South Bronx Job Corps Academy is soliciting bids for the purchase and installation of 8 "Energy Star" Washers & 8 "Energy Efficient" Dryers for their dormitory laundry rooms. The South Bronx Job Corps Academy is a federally funded training facility for youth between the ages of 16 & 24, the program operates year round with approximately 300 trainees and is operated by ResCare for the U.S. Department of Labor. This procurement will be on Net30 terms. Scope of Work Furnish and install 8 Washers & 8 Dryers in total * two (2) Kenmore Elite 46742 Front Load Washers (or different model with same specs) in each of the four (4) dormitory laundry rooms * two (2) Kenmore Elite 87872 Electric Dryers (or different model with same specs) in each of the four (4) dormitory laundry rooms * Provide warranty on parts & labor and service machines when requested Safety & Health All work shall be accomplished in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal disruption to the operation of the Academy. The subcontractor represents, by acceptance of any resultant agreement that they are in compliance with all regualations and standards flowing from the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970 (P.O. 91-596,29 USC 651 et seq.) and further that in the event hazardous materials are involved, will comply with Federal Standards No. 310 dated July 1971 to the lates change, entitled "Symbols for Packages and Containers for Hazardous Chemicals and Materials." Vendor acknowledges that by acceptance of any resultant agreement, that all work and materials used in the performance of the contract duties meet federal, state, local and OSHA regulations. Proposal Submission Bidders are encouraged to attend our scheduled walk thru this Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 2 p.m. to become familiar with the physical layout of the facility where the service is to be provided. Interested parties should respond to the above solicitiation by the COB on December 18, 2009 to be eligible for award. Please reference the notice number on your sealed proposal envelope.
