- Description
- The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia Pacific Region is seeking sources to provide fresh fruits and vegetables (FF&V) freight forwarding services in Japan. Types of services include drayage of 40-feet reefer containers between ocean carrier’s facility and contractor’s cold storage facility in Yokohama, Japan; distribution services to include reefer stripping, cargo sorting, temporary refrigerated storage, procedures and documentation required for inspection by the Government of Japan, fumigation services as required, loading sorted FF&V shipments into reefer trucks for delivery to consignees and commodity destruction; space rental for temporary storage of FF&V and delivery of sorted shipments between Yokohama, Japan and military consignees within Japan. Similar services may be required for Okinawa, Japan. Contract duration is anticipated to be 12 months (base period) with four 12-month option periods, for a total of 60 months. An indefinite delivery, firm-fixed-price requirements type contract is anticipated. Product Service Code is V112 – Motor Freight; NAICS 488510 - Freight Transportation Arrangement, small business size standard - $7.0M. This procurement will be conducted on an unrestricted basis. Interested parties shall provide the following information to the Government: (1) Name of company - include company address, a contact person’s name, telephone number, and email address; (2) Company size (please specify as either large, small business, or 8(a); (3) Describe in detail the firm’s capability to provide the items. Respondents should include applicable Dun and Bradstreet Number (DUNS), Tax Identification Number (TIN), CAGE code, and indicate if actively registered on Central Contractor Register (CCR). The purpose of this notice is to identify potential sources. ***THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY FOR THE GOVERNMENT’S MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES AND IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS; A CONTRACT WILL NOT BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS.*** The Government will not pay for any materials furnished in response to this notice.
