Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to SP Industries/VirTis, 815 Route 208, Gardiner, NY 12525, for an AdVantage Plus Freeze Dryer EL, which comes with 2 production style, fluid-cooled 10”x14” heated product shelves with shelf temperature ranger from -70C to +60C, with shelf interdistance of 2.88”, four (4) product probes included and one PETG plastic product tray. Complete with 4 patented ¾” Quickseal valves for attaching a variety of ampoules, vials and flasks. Condenser coil will hold a total of t liters before defrosting. Unit has low temp of -85C. Includes VBS-Electromagnetic valve for extra protection against vacuum pump oil being drawn back into the product chamber in the vent of a power failure or accidental shut down. Comes with Wizard 2.0 microprocessor-based control system featuring manual or automatic shelf control. Displays freeze drying parameters of shelf, condenser, product probe temperatures and vacuum. CFC free and bulk configuration standard. Comes with the following: stoppering configuration (pneumatic top down stoppering platen that compresses the shelves from the top down for stoppering vials under vacuum, with 60psi air or gas required for operation; Lybold 2.5E vacuum pump (65 LPM, 2-stage w/gas ballast); oil mist eliminator and adaptor for Leybold D2.5E (65LPM) vacuum pump; two 1” low profile removable bottom stainless steel trays for use with AdVantage Freeze Dryer which allows vials to sit directly on the shelf for better heat transfer; Wizard computer workstation with recipe management, synoptic data screen, data logging and graphing (unit includes computer, monitor, color printer and software to run Wizard control system); Wizard automatic control system which allows the end user to input different recipes via a numeric keypad; two removable bottom stainless steel trays (10”x14”) for use with freeze dryer, which allows vials to sit directly on the shelf for better heat transfer; MVP product probes for placing into small sample vials for product temperature analysis while providing virtually no thermal path to the product; start-up and training by a VirTis training associate; and estimated shipping. Instrument must be capable of freezing and lyophilization of 1-2ML split-stopper vials with samples on at least two shelves with continuous display and recording of shelf and condenser temperatures and vacuum level. Controller must be able to vary at least 16 thermal and vacuum control steps and both recipes and conditions must be recordable for quality assurance records and good manufacturing practices. Unit must be capable of automated stoppering under vacuum or N2. Condenser unit must be able to attain -85C and the shelf freeze temperature to -60C or less. Shelf dryer must be a bench unit with footprint no greater than 26’Wx28”Dx27”H as space available in Select Agent BSL-3 laboratory precludes use of any floor units. Smallest benchtop space while providing high quality control is required. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This procurement is not set-aside for small business. For contractual questions contact Linda M. Young.
