Description
Concerns having the ability to furnish the services and supplies described herein are requested to give written notification, including the name and telephone number of a point of contact, to the Contract Specialist listed in the announcement. The U.S. Geological Survey, Research Lab, Lawrence, Kansas, has a requirement for supplies from Abraxis LLC, Atrazine, Cylindrospermopsin ELISA, Saxitoxin ELISA, Ethylnylestradiol (EE2) IME2, Estrone (E1) IMEI, 17B-Estradiol, Sulfamethoxazole for one year. Abraxis LLC will receive orders from designated government employees for the chemicals identified above over the performance period of one year Not to Exceed 40,000.00. Based on the information available at this time and in accordance with 41 USC 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the supplies specified as a sole source from Abraxis LLC, Warminster, PA and proposes to negotiate a contract with that company on the following basis. Abraxis kits offer the unique qualification to fill the requirement of the USGS, Lawrence, Kansas, because of data continuity for existing projects, compatability with existing validated methodology, acceptable quality control/quality assurance, and comparability with existing USGS approved and research chromatographic methods. Additionally, our staff is fully trained on these methods and the interpretation of provided data. Our laboratory staff would have to be retrained and alternate ELISAs would have to be revalidated against existing chromatographic methods at significant cost to the USGS Kansas Water Science Center and lead to diminished sample throughput during the validation process. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel they can furnish the required supplies or its functional equivalent (based on the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit, in writing, an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature brochures, and other such materials which correspond to the required supplies stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, No solicitation documents exists. Therefore, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration. This notice may represent the government's only official notice of this procurement. Steve Lebsock, Contract Specialist, Denver Federal Center, 6th & Kipling, Bldg 53 Ent S-1, MS204B, Lakewood, Co. 80225 or email slebsock@usgs.gov
