- Description
- The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) requires a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) system capable of depositing films composed of sulfide, selenide, and telluride compounds with high optical quality and a thickness of approximately 10 µm. Some components of these films are suited to evaporation at low temperature (<600 degrees C), while others are suited to evaporation at temperatures as high as 1500 degrees C. The required system is a combination high temperature/low temperature PVD evaporation tool, with sources designed for evaporation at both the low and high temperature ranges. The system must be computer-controlled, user-friendly, and engineered specifically for the above-described material system. A complete list of specifications will be available as part of the solicitation. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract will be made as a result of this solicitation. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and amendments to RFPs. Paper copies of the RFP will not be provided. The actual closing date for proposals will be stated in the solicitation when issued.
