Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the NIST Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), intends to negotiate with The Mathworks, Inc., Natick, MA, on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) for the purchase of renewed maintenance of The Mathworks software licenses. Based on recent market research, NIST believes that The Mathworks, Inc., is the only entity that can satisfy NIST’s requirement for maintenance of Mathworks brand software licenses that NIST previously procured. The NAICS Code is 511210 with a Size Standard of $23.0 million. NIST anticipates negotiating and awarding a firm-fixed-price type purchase order for a period of twelve months to The Mathworks for this requirement. Interested parties that are authorized by The Mathworks to sell maintenance renewal for the aforementioned Mathworks software licenses may clearly and unambiguously identify their capability to do so in writing on or before the response date for this notice. This notice of intent is not a solicitation. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for this acquisition. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted in writing via email to Janine Kerns at janine.kerns@nist.gov no later than 10:00 am Monday, December 28, 2009.
