Description
RECOVERY – THIS POST-AWARD NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO ACCESS SYSTEMS, INC. FOR THE REASONS DESCRIBED BELOW. In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, Pub.L. 111-5, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) posts this notice of issuance of modification 0028 to Delivery Order 0001 of a previously competed contract (TIRNO-07-D-00004) that was awarded to Access Systems, Inc., a small business. This purchase will provide additional Millions of Instructions Per Seconds (MIPS) through upgrades to our existing software licenses and maintenance through September 30, 2010. The additional MIPS will support new workloads to the IRS mainframe environment. The mainframe environment contains mission critical tax applications affected by the changes implemented by the ARRA. These changes will result in increased workload volumes and changes that will require additional processing resources. The increased workloads include processing new Business Master File tax forms and handling increased volumes of queries to support customer interactions with the IRS for other tax application systems such as Corporate File Online. This acquisition will provide the software licenses and maintenance for the additional processor capacity needed to process these workloads. The firm-fixed price modification award amount is $266,932.60.
