- (Subject Continued) Replace Cooling Towers #1, #2 & #3 Building 106 MICC has a requirement for and is intending to issue an IFB and eventually award a FFP construction contract for the identified ARRA project numbers above at the Adelphi Laboratory Center in Adelphi, MD Recovery Project Numbers:#22964: Replace water-cooled chiller #3 in Building 106m with new one. This chiller is a duplicate of chiller #4 that was recently installed under a separate contract. The new chiller #3 must communicate and work in conjunction with the existing chiller #4 and other plant chillers control details to be worked out in the design phase. This work shall be installed in strict compliance with all Federal, State and Local codes and in accordance with standard Army Corps of Engineers and USAGA installation requirements. Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, and equipment to implement the statement of work. This shall include all engineering and design submissions, lawful disposal of demolished materials, construction, installation, management, commissioning, operations and maintenance documentation, training, bonding, applicable tax, and warranty for a fully-functioning system, properly designed for the application. Project #24649: Repair (recondition) existing cooling towers CT-3 (1000 Nominal Tons), CT-6 (1600 Nominal Tons), and CT-7 (1600 Nominal Tons). All work is to be accomplished without damaging any existing equipment and utilities to remain and will be accomplished without interference to the heating and cooling operations of the plant. Recondition the towers with all appurtenances to make them fully functional and operationally consistent with all other cooling towers at the Plant (Building 106). All work will be warranted parts and labor for one year commencing with the date of acceptance of all work by the government. Project #35205: Replace existing cooling towers (nominal sizes CT-2: 800 tons, CT-4: 1000 tons) with new cooling towers as specified in the Specifications Section and shown on the sample drawings. Remove cooling towers CT-1, CT-2 and CT-4. Remove rust and paint all existing structural steel that will support the new cooling towers. On ly CT-2 and CT-4 will be replaced with new cooling towers. Disconnect all utilities as required to remove the existing cooling towers without damaging any existing equipment and utilities to remain. Cap all utilities to CT-1. All work will be accomplished without interference to the heating and cooling operations of the plant. Install the new cooling towers with all appurtenances to make them fully functional and operationally consistent with all other cooling towers at the Plant (Building 106). The new cooling towers shall include: factory walkways and railings, fan variable frequency drives, and manufacturer startup and first year parts and labor.Project # 32049: Replace existing cooling tower (nominal size 194 tons) with new cooling tower as specified in the Specifications Section and shown on the sample drawings. Remove existing cooling tower. Remove rust and paint all existing structural steel that will support the new cooling tower. Disconnect all uti lities as required to remove the existing cooling tower without damaging any existing equipment and utilities to remain. All work will be accomplished without interference to the heating and cooling operations of the building. Install the new cooling tower with all appurtenances to make it fully functional and operationally. The new cooling tower shall include: fan variable frequency drive, and manufacturer startup and first year parts and labor. The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, transportation to perform all work identified above in accordance with (IAW) and in compliance with all federal, state, local, and industry codes, regulations and laws in satisfying work requirements identified above at the ALC. NAICS#: The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220. FUNDING: This project is funded from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). PROJECT MAGNITUDE: The magnitude of this project is between $1M and $5M. BONDING REQUIREMENTS: Bid Bond provided in submitted bid to the Government in response to the IFB for this acquisition. SET ASIDE: This requirement is 100% Set-Aside for Small Businesses SOLICITATION TYPE: Invitation for Bid CONTRACT TYPE: Firm Fixed-Price PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Anticipated performance period is 300 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Posting of this Award Notice is in compliance with FAR 5.702 and Reporting Requirements for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
