- THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROCUREMENT. The resulting contract will utilize funds provided by the AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) OF 2009. Interested parties are notified that the inclusion of unique provisions required in implementing the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency, will be required of the successful bidder. The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-82B1-S-10-0099 on or about January12, 2010, for the RECOVERY Canyon Creek Bridge and Peter’s Creek Culvert Replacement Project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after January 12, 2010 to obtain a copy of the solicitation. All future information about this acquisition will be distributed solely through this website. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201, however, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The purpose of this project is the removal, disposal, and replacement of (1) an existing bridge over Canyon Creek, and (2) an existing corrugated steel culvert on Peters Creek. Both crossings occur on Forest Road No. 38, and the work includes fabrication and installation of a concrete bridge at Canyon Creek and replacing the Peters Creek culvert with a structural-plate open bottom arch culvert on a concrete footing. These structures are located on the Hungry Horse and Spotted Bear Ranger Districts of the Flathead National Forest. Contract work elements include, but are not limited to erosion control; excavation; loading, hauling and placing of Government-furnished crushed aggregate base and riprap; furnishing and placement of a geocell foundation stabilization grid w/ Commercial source granular fill material; streambed restoration work (utilizing hydraulic excavator); precast foundation, bridge fabrication and installation; and the removal and disposal of the existing bridge. PROJECT LOCATION. The project sites are located on the eastside of Hungry Horse Reservoir at MP 26.339 and MP 42.03 of US Forest Service Road #38, on the Hungry Horse Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest, Flathead County, Montana. They may be reached via US Highway No. 2, 25 miles north-east of Kalispell, Montana at martin City, turn right heading west on south Fork Rd East/Central Ave in martin city, Montana, approximately 2 miles to national Forest Road #38, proceed approximately 26.34 miles South to the bridge at Canyon Creek and 42.03 miles to the Peter’s Creek culvert site. PARTICIPATION. This project is advertised under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (FAR 19.10) for Full and Open Competition.
