Description
On or about 20 January 2010, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of RECOVERY - Western Sarpy Conservation Measures, Platte and Elkhorn Rivers, Sarpy County, Nebraska. The solicitation will close on or about 18 February 2010. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 03 February 2010 at 9:00am. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work are to meet at the end of Fairview Road (west of 252nd Street) adjacent to the Jansen Sand Pit Area. Contractors need to RSVP via e-mail to Steve Rasmussen, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Crook Area Office at Steven.T.Rasmussen@usace.army.mil. Should there be severe weather, Contractors will be notified by e-mail of any changes in the site visit date or time. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Project Description: (Approx. quantities) Construction of environmental features on Vencils Island and at the Jansen Sand Pit Area, in conjunction with the Western Sarpy/Clear Creek Levee Improvement Project, on the Sarpy County banks of the Platte River and Elkhorn River, to include tree removal and disposal, clearing and grubbing, excavation of chutes and backwater chutes, excavation and hauling or dredging stockpiled material into an adjacent lake, construction of wetlands and wet meadow areas, construction of concrete reinforced pavement for a Texas crossing, construction of reinforced concrete inlet structures (box culverts), cast in place concrete slabs, sheet pile, riprap, seeding, and erosion control. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 270 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
