Description
STATEMENT OF WORK NIIP - GALLEGOES DISCHARGE LINE EROSION REPAIR DESCRIPTION: To reshape and replace damaged rip rap along discharge line right of way. Reshaped rip rap shall be grouted to prevent future erosion. LOCATION: Area of work is located in San Juan County, New Mexico, approximately 12 miles south of Farmington, New Mexico, on the NIIP project. See attached map. SAFETY: All work associated with this statement of work shall comply with rules and regulations of the Reclamation Safety Health Standards, Edition 2001. A JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) shall be provided for each phase of work. All JHA's shall be in accordance with RSHS. Contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor and materials to perform this work. PHASES OF WORK: DRAIN CHANNEL SHAPING AND PLACING OF RIP RAP: Contractor shall shape existing channel to the design shown on drawing. Remaining 6" rip rap shall be reclaimed for reuse and cleaned so rip rap can receive grout. Contractor shall utilize as much of the displaced rip rap as possible. No additional backfill material will be required. Contractor shall obtain additional 6" rip rap that closely matches existing rip rap. Rip rap shall be placed to the thicknesses shown on drawing. GROUTING OF RIP RAP: Contractor shall provide a 4000 psi grout mix for rip rap. Grout shall be mixed to a fluid consistency that will provide full penetration of placed rip rap. No grout shall be placed when subgrade is at or below freezing temperatures. Placed grout shall a maintain a minimum temperature of 50 degrees for 72 hours after placing. USBR mix designs are currently in place and approved for the following vendors. Four Corners Materials and Sky Ute Sand and Gravel. Contractor may choose vendor. Estimated Quantities: The area of proposed work is approximately 250' x 25'.Shaping of Drain Channel = 850 square yardsRip Rap = 300 cubic yardsGrout = 80 cubic yards. WORK RESTRICTIONS: Stated work is located near a 345kv overhead power line. If contractor proposes to place grout with a concrete pump truck, a pump designed specifically for working under power lines will be required. This type of pump truck is referred to as a "Z" Boom pump truck. A Z boom pump truck can be obtained from Brundage Bone Concrete Pumping Company. Contractor will also be required to notify PNM during this activity.
