The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), requires an 80 mW solid-state laser system to operate at 790nm. The most viable technology at this wavelength is an extended cavity diode laser, however, this technology is not required. All equipment must be new. Refurbished and or remanufactured shall not be considered. All interested Contractors shall provide a quote for the following line item: Line Item 0001: Quantity One (1) each, 80 mW solid-state laser system, which shall meet or exceed the following required minimum specifications: 1. Center wavelength 790nm, tunable from 765 to 795 nm without realignment of cavity minimum, larger tuning range shall be given stronger consideration under the technical capability evaluation factor; 2. 50 GHz mode-hop free tuning minimum, a larger mode-hop free tuning range shall be given stronger consideration under the technical capability evaluation factor; 3. Output power larger than 60 mW at 790 nm and at least 40 mW over the whole tuning range specified above in specification number 1, higher power shall be given stronger consideration under the technical capability evaluation factor; 4. Line-width below 1 MHz (1 sec measurement time), a narrower line-width shall be given stronger consideration under the technical capability evaluation factor; 5. Single spatial mode, linearly polarized; 6. Laser to include bias-T for high frequency current modulation; 7. Laser to include a fast FET for intermediate frequency current modulation; 8. Product literature shall be evaluated to determine that the proposed equipment will meet or exceed all of the Governments required minimum specifications as reflected herein. In evaluating technical capability, strongest consideration shall be given to equipment that has capabilities that exceed the specifications listed above under specifications 1-4.
