- Description
- 1. Fabricate couches IAW attachments 1 and 2. Couches must meet shipboard approved furniture specifications for fabrication and flammability. The couches shall be dark brown vinyl; contractor shall consult ship representative regarding final color choice prior to that stage of fabrication. The couches must be able to be disassembled/reassembled so that they will be able to fit through 26" wide doors. Ship check is recommended to determine the best route to on-load couches. 2. Install couches in Crew Lounge, Compartment 2-47-2-L onboard USCGC BERTHOLF. Installation should include fastening the furniture to the deck in such a way that it will remain secured in sea states 0-10. (Ship check is recommended to confirm accuracy and fit of provided measurements). 3. Fabricate and install a shelf behind the couch in the forward inboard corner of the compartment. (this will be used to prevent items from falling behind the couch and will help utilize the space wasted by the awkward shape of the ship's bulkhead in that area). 4. Install government furnished entertainment center against the aft bulkhead. Contractor shall get approval on placement from the ship representative before final installation. 5. Remove and dispose the existing tables. These tables are fastened to the deck with stand off studs; the contractor shall remove these studs as well. 6. Once all disturbance of the deck is completed, the contractor shall install Cherry colored Stratica in place of the existing deck covering system. The existing deck is Cosmetic Polymeric Resin (PRC) and is in good condition and therefore contractor shall reuse the existing underlayment so long as it meets the manufacturer's specifications for proper installation of Stratica tiling. If the existing underlayment will not meet the requirements for installation of Stratica then the contract shall submit a CFR indicating the conditions that prevent its use along with recommendations and estimates. General Requirements: 1. Work is to be completed at Unit's homeport of Alameda CA. 2. Work shall be completed prior to February 22nd. 3. Normal working hours shall be M-F 0700-1500. Not hot work will be permitted after these hours unless approved by the ship's Engineer Officer. 4. Work shall be completed on a not to interfere basis with the ship's routine. During the month of January the ship will be undergoing numerous training evolutions that may deny access to the Crew Lounge. Some flexibility will be needed for items such as deck work and carrying couches through the ship to the lounge. 5. All temporary services shall be provided by the contractor. Due to the location of this compartment the contractor may use the ship's 440V outlet located outside of the FMMR vestibule on the starboard side. 6. The contractor shall abide by the regulations set forth in the NSTM 074 for all hotwork evolutions. For More Information on the scope of work please contact Johnathan Mills at 510-637-5815. Thank you
