Description
RECOVERY (ARRA): Special Notice - Modification No. 4 Neal Smith Federal Building Performance Enhancements Federal Building - Courthouse (IA0087ZZ) 210 Walnut Street Des Moines, IA 50309 RECOVERY ACT PROCUREMENT. THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. This project will be funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The proposed procurement is being made under the A-E IDIQ Multiple Award Task Order for the primary geographic area of the State of Iowa. ***ONLY the contractor listed is permitted to submit proposals for this contract: Substance, LLC, 1300 Walnut Street, Ste. 201, Des Moines, IA 50309 *** The Federal Supply Code is C211. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 541310 (Architectural Services) and the size standard is $4.5 million. The estimated range of this project will be between 1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, funding has been released to improve the performance of architectural, mechanical and electrical components in the existing federal building. As the result of a Building Performance Enhancements Report completed by Substance and KJWW engineering consultants dated December 1, 2009, recommendations were made to improve the building's overall performance. The A/E shall proceed with design for the scope of work below, visit and investigate existing site conditions, meet with regional and field staff as required to ascertain existing conditions and systems. The A/E shall also provide and include narratives, floor plans and/or schematics as required. The scope of work will be performed at the Neal Smith Federal Building, Des Moines, Iowa which will include: removal of induction units, new transformers, daylighting improvements, restroom upgrades, restroom remodel, cafeteria/kitchen upgrades, new service elevator, and a new cooling tower.
