- RECOVERY ACT PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR the Install Hot Water Converters Project at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois. This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSBs).Contractor shall provide for and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, temporary protection, qualified supervision, to install new hot water converters, new hot water risers-north and south, new chill water risers-north and south, new pumps and temperature controls in the Damen Pavilion, Building 1 at Jesse Brown VAMC, Project Number 537-10-113, as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings. Work to be completed within 180 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on FedBizOps. There will be a pre-bid site inspection held for this project, although not required, all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid site inspection will be included in the solicitation package. The solicitation for this RECOVERY ACT funded project will be issued on/about January 20, 2010 with the bid opening on/about February 18, 2010. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from FedBizOps which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238220; size standard $14.0 Million applies. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award.
