Description
NOTE: THIS PRESOLICITATION HAS A DUE DATE THAT IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONL. THE OFFICIAL DUE DATE WILL BE INDICATED IN THE INVITATION FOR BID. DESCRIPTION: South Zone Bridge Restoration Project: The project consists of two types of construction work under one contract solicitation on the Avery Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests as follows: •Cliff Creek Bridge Replacement •Treated Timber Bridge Repairs – Avery & Red Ives Area A brief description of the project work under each of the two work segments is as follows: Cliff Creek Bridge Replacement: The project involves the removal of an existing treated timber bridge and construction of a new 50’ span bridge with a prestressed concrete trideck beam superstructure on a precast concrete grade beam foundation. The bridge is located on Forest Service Road No. 326 at mile post 3.2. The project work includes, but not limited to; removal of existing treated timber bridge structure, minor clearing and grubbing, structural excavation, placement of riprap, furnish and installation of precast concrete grade beams and wingwalls, furnish and installation of precast prestressed concrete trideck beams, excavation and embankment, crushed aggregate surfacing, minor equipment rental work, minor stream diversion, soil erosion and pollution control, contractor construction quality control and associated minor work items. Treated Timber Bridge Repairs – Avery & Red Ives Area The project involves the upgrades and repairs to eleven treated timber bridges in the Avery and Red Ives areas of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The project work includes, but not limited to: glued laminated curbs, glued laminated abutment posts, glued laminated wingwall posts, object markers & wood posts, welded wire gabions, placed riprap, treated timber running plank, mud sill grouting, minor hot asphalt concrete, saw cutting asphalt concrete, treated timber end bumpers, treated timber backing plank, glued laminated pier post, crushed aggregate, minor equipment rental work, stream diversions, soil erosion and pollution control, contractor construction quality control and associated minor work items.

Address: Cliff Creek Bridge Replacement: The project is located in the St Joe Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forest, approximately 12 miles northeast of Avery in Shoshone County, Idaho in Township 46N, Range 6E, Section 10. To access the project travel approximately 9 miles north from Avery, Idaho on North Fork St Joe River County Route No. 456 and 3.2 miles on Forest Service Development Road No. 326 to the project site at Cliff Creek. Refer to the vicinity map on the title sheet of the plans for project location., Treated Timber Bridge Repairs The project sites are located in the St Joe Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests on Forest Service Development Roads No. 326, No. 1268 and No. 301 in the vicinity of Avery and Forest Service Development Roads No. 1222, No. 218, No. 320 and No. 715 in the vicinity of Red Ives in Shoshone County, Idaho.
