Description
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source, fixed-price procurement with Bruker AXS Handheld, Inc., 415 N. Quary St., Kennewick, WA 99336 under RFQ E009683. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website ( www.fedbizopps.gov ). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Bruker will provide 1 (each) of the Bruker AXS Handheld Tracer III-SD XRF W/100 Free hours of phone support and 1.5 days free onsite training Part # TR III-SD. Bruker AXS Handheld is the only manufacturer of this product and there are no authorized resellers. Based on market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government, and the related industry, only the Bruker AXS Handheld Tracer manufactured by Bruker Handheld meets the technical and safety specifications and performance ratio standards required for the specified FBI system. This includes the requirement to be handheld and easily fieldable, a limited amount of X-Ray Emission that is safe without additional protection and shielding, ability to identify multiple elements with customizable filters and secondary targets which tune the analyzer to detect these specific elements. Filters are able to be changed in the field by operator without specialized training. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests in this requirement to this office by 12:00 noon (Eastern) January 15, 2010, via e-mail to the attention of: Jacob Gessel, at Jacob.gessel@ic.fbi.gov. The North American Industrial Classification System Number (NAICS) is 334516-Electronic Computer Manufacturing. The awardee shall be registered in the Central Contractor's Database (CCR) and also the Online Representations and Certification (ORCA) at http://orca.bpn.gov.
