Description
Construction Services for Recovery Act Project # 630A4-09-407. Description: This notice is for project, "Recovery Act - Repair and Replace Sidewalks, Parking Lots, and Roads," at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn Campus, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn NY, 11209 This shall be a Service Disabled Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). As a result, all SDVOSB's may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the agency. The project falls under NAICS Code 236220, and has a Small Business Standard of $33.5 Million. The estimated price range for this project is $1,000,000.00 to $2,000,000.00 respectively. The work for this requirement consists of, but is not limited to: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment as per drawings and specifications at the VA Medical Center, Brooklyn Campus, 800 Poly Place, Brooklyn NY 11209. This includes: 1)Remove existing asphalt pavement, asphalt speed bumps, concrete pavement, concrete sidewalks, concrete curbs and gutters as shown on drawings. 2)Provide new asphalt pavement, asphalt speed humps, concrete pavement, concrete sidewalks, concrete curbs and gutters as shown on drawings. 3)Grade and compact existing sub-base and provide new sub-base where required. 4)Remove and dispose of existing chain link fencing where shown on drawings. 5)Provide new pavement markings after paving and temporary markings during construction as needed. 6)Remove existing sign poles and reinstall after paving is completed. 7)Clean and seal all joints and cracks in areas not being repaved. 8)Remove any metal stubs embedded in existing paving and patch as required. 9)Remove and dispose of any loose debris from parking lots as directed by Project Engineer. 10)Excavate and remove topsoil and provide new concrete/asphalt pavement as shown on drawings. 11)Maintain accessibility of roadways, sidewalks, etc. at all times, one side of roadway must remain open at all times. 12)Use temporary steel plates during work where required. 13)All work is to be done in multiple phases, scheduled for weekends and coordinated with Project Engineer, starting on Fridays at 6:00 PM and finished by 6:00 AM on Monday. 14)Survey grounds prior to construction and after completion of work, provide surveys to Project Engineer. 15)Recycle materials and provide a recycle manifest to Project Engineer. Other details/information is in the solicitation which shall be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov. The anticipated release date of the IFB is Jan. 19,2010 and the anticipated closing date is February 19, 2010. The bid submittal address and time is included in the solicitation. This project requires bonding and bid submissions shall be in hardcopies and not e-mailed or faxed. All bidders shall be registered and verified in the www.ccr.gov and www.vetbiz.gov and www.orca.bpn.gov. Completion time is (from notice to proceed) 150 calendar days for base bid.
