Description
MARKET RESEARCH determine SOLE SOURCE and BUY AMERICAN ACT Compliant Construction MaterialTEKMAR SNOWMELT CONTROLLER AND SENSOR AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District intends to specify a snowmelt controller and sensor for repair of existing sidewalk heating systems. This market research is to identify if there are sources available to meet the restrictions contained under FAR 52.225-9, Buy American Act-Construction Materials and if there are other products other than the brand name. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST TO PURCHASE THE CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL, but to determine if a BAA compliant construction material is available in the commercial off-the-shelf marketplace that meets the salient features of the brand name item. The construction material description is TekMar A664 Snow Detector and Melting Control. The salient features for controller is Floating Action Output, Modulating Output, Variable Speed Output, Warm Weather Cut Off, Cold Weather Cut Off, ability to control up to two zones in a snow melting system, automatically adjusts the mixed supply water to the snow melting system by controlling up to two boilers and a single mixing devise. The system may be started manually or automatically through the use of a Snow/Ice Sensor. Salient feature of the Snow/Ice Sensor is compatible with the controller and works with existing heated sidewalk system conduit and piping.
