- Description
- The US Army ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sourcesfor Multi-Variable Armament Systems for Manned and Unmanned Vehicles who are also knowledgeable of Remote Weapon Systems (RWS). All interested firms shall submit their technical capabilities (10 pages maximum) for the above to include the following at no cost to the Government. Costs for proposal submissions are strictly the responsibility of the interested contractor. To date, these systems are heavy, expensive and the gun systems of these RWS are not robotized. The ammunition is part of the RWS which adds a lot of weight to the RWS and therefore expensive heavy large motors are needed. Vehicle Integration Kits are required for installation of each RWS onto the vehicle platform. This effort will allow for the manufacture of prototype new armaments and RWS components that solve the present RWS problems such as material degradation, weight requirements, vehicle integration, processing & fabrication, jamming, ammo storage & loading. This effort also includes the manufacture of munition components, projectiles that may transform into Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) projectiles, platforms in support of lightweight and/or advanced systems or subsystems for manned and unmanned vehicles. Contractor must be experienced with fabricating, machining, and working with various types of metals, fabricating prototypes, and manufacturing of munition components. Contractor shall provide consultant(s) support as needed which includes knowledge of advanced materials, munition items, and manned/unmanned vehicles. Contractor shall have the capability to develop design concepts and provide manufacturing insight for product improvement, integration, upgrades, and producibility analysis (such as Vehicle Integration Kit development). Interested firms, who feel they are capable, are invited to indicate their interest by providing to the U.S. Army a brief summary of their companys capabilities including a brief description of training units and verification of existing prototype/commercially available units. These technical capabilities shall be submitted ELECTRONICALLY ONLY, and within fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice to Matthew Endrizzi (email address: matt.endrizzi@us.army.mil). Please note that telephone inquiries will not be accepted. Please also provide the companys name, address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, size of business (small/large) and team members. This is a market survey for information only. It does not constitute a RFP and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. The Government intends to solicit sole source to Imperial Machine and Tool Co. INC.
