- RECOVERY - Task Order Notification THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY UNDER THE AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) PROGRAM. This opportunity is available only to contractors under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Technical and Management Support Services (TAMSS) task order contract that is Set-Aside for 8 (a) Small Business Concerns. This task order will provide for specialized technical consultation and assistance in the management and implementation of the Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) program to effectively implement policy-based interventions for improved health behaviors and chronic disease outcomes. The policy-based interventions are to have a large-scale impact on increasing levels of physical activity; improving nutrition; reducing overweight and obesity prevalence; decreasing smoking prevalence and reducing teen smoking initiation; and reducing exposure to secondhand smoke. Services and consultation include: technical assistance; review and analyses; networking; training; policy interpretations of regulations, statutes and impact; guidelines development and recommendations; presentations; reports; writing and editing; and literary reviews. The contractor shall provide labor, materials, and travel required to provide specialized technical consultation and assistance in various focus areas for the management and implementation of CPPW Program. The services required hereunder are contained within the statement of work for the TAMSS in the following areas: • Scientific Design/Implementation/Support - formative activities, conducting literature reviews, coordination of scientific and technical support including training; providing specialized advisory and assistance services; • Evaluation - program assessments/evaluation studies, data analysis; and • Policy Analysis. The contractor shall provide qualified consultants that will perform specific tasks on-site at CDC and at grantee locations throughout the United States. These consultants will be subject matter experts in the areas of obesity, tobacco, nutrition and food systems, physical activity, school health, and health education training, and health policy. All tasks performed by the contractor shall be performed under the direction of a contractor-provided task leader who shall have experience in the field of public health and preferably, chronic disease management. This is not a request for competitive proposals, nor is a solicitation available. The statement of work will be issued to selected vendors under the task order umbrella contract and in accordance with FAR 16.505. Period of Performance: Eighteen (18) months from date of award with a Base Period of 6 months and one Option Period of 12 months.
