- Description
- PD picture 2 Picture 1 The 309th Maintenance Support Group, 809th Maintenance Squadron, Advanced Composites NDI element is responsible for inspection services and is seeking to replace the current Ultrasonic Scanning System (USS). USS is a computer-controlled ultrasonic scanning system designed to inspection highly curved, composite and metallic parts, and assemblies. The USS can convert three-dimensional pulse-echo data to two-dimensional data which provides accurate location of anomalies in actual surface distance measurements, while providing reliable and repeatable inspections on critical structures, storing inspection data digitally for future reference, providing throughput needs to make inspection costs effective, and providing a means to inspect parts which could not be inspected manually due to their configuration. This is a request for information seeking sources capable of meeting the requirements in the attached Purchase Description. When responding please include: 1. Company Name and Cage code. 2. Who is your POC please provide email address and phone number. 3. Experiences with same or similar items, please describe. 4. Suggested NAICS Code. 5. Business Size Classification for NAICS and qualifications if any as any sub-category. (i.e. 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 6. Would you be a prime or subcontractor? 7. Lead Time for the task performance. 8. Would you be supplying the scanner as a manufacturer or a distributor? 9. Would you be able to use any of the current testing structure or would you have to redo the support columns and footings? 10. Would you need an industry day to examine the current structure? 11. What specifications would you recommend? 12. What type of software maintenance contract would you be able to provide? The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of these sources sought or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. The information provided is considered market research and may be utilized by the AF in developing its acquisition strategy, Statement of Objectives, and Performance Specifications. Any proprietary information that is submitted may be used as a general concept but specific information will be safeguarded as proprietary, if so marked. Interested offerors should send a response to the sources sought inquiry and the questions listed above to the Contract Negotiator. Responses should be submitted by 4:00 pm MST on 3 February 2010.
