Description
The purpose of Modification #3 is to revise the response date from 1/26/10 to 1/29/10. In addition the due date for past performance questionnaires has been extended from 1/20/10 to 1/29/10. Lastly, the following questions were asked either at the site visit or by email. They are posted here along with their answers: 1. Can the contractors leave cranes or any kind of equipment on EPA Facilities? What? And for how long can it be left? Who will be responsible for the equipment? Any equipment left on the property for work done on the property would have to be coordinated on a case by case basis. The contractor should not assume that any equipment will be allowed to be stored on the property. The contractor is responsible for any equipment left on the property. 2. How are emergency calls handled? How is the contractor contacted and when are they expected to respond? The Contractor will be notified by phone and will need to respond to the phone call within 30 minutes. 3. What is the square footage of the green roofs? Annex 2 Green Roof is 7112 + 7163=14,275 sq ft. 4. What sort of plant material is on the green roof? Sedum plants of the following varieties. Sedum floriferum 'Weienstphaner Gold', Sedum kamtschaticum, Sedum reflexum, Sedum spurium 'dragons blood', Sedum spurium 'fuldaglut', Sedum spurium hybridum immergrunchen, Sedum acre. 5. What kind of watering system does the green roof have? There is a hose bib. 6. Is there some kind of shut down on smog days? Yes. See section 1.4 of the solitication. 7.Is there a reduction of cars on the weekend? Yes, the parking lot has a significant reduction in cars on the weekend. 8. Is snow and ice removal covered in the specifications? There is no snow and ice removal included in the specifications. Regarding the Center Hill Facility: Clarify the specifications: what must be trimmed back from the fence? Trees? or Brush? Or Both? The contractor shall remove all emerging trees and brush from fence lines, for a distance of ten (10) feet outside the fence at the Center Hill property. All tree limbs hanging over the ence at the Center Hill Property shall be pruned back to allow a minimum of 6 feet to the top of the fence. The emerging trees are part of the brush. Large trees that are already in the area do not need to be cleared. However, if those trees in the designated area become a hazard to the building or fall on the fence, etc. the tree affected would need to be cut down as part of contract if it is 20 inches or less in diameter. Anything over that diamerte would need to be negotiated. Are there water spigots outside for watering trees and shrubs? There are water spigots located in various places around the buildings.
