Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Western Earthquake Hazards Team, NESMP, has a requirement for 3 Each, multi-channel, strong motion recorders, to include various cables required with the recorders; NAICS CODE: 334519. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b),(1) to Kinemetrics, Inc. The National Strong Motion Program has been installing and maintaining strong motion recorders for 35 years, exclusively using Kinemetrics recorders and sensors, that are equipped with microprocessor-based, specifically an operating system package called Rock. Recorders purchased under this action must utilize an operating system compatible with the existing system. Also, the recorders must meet the following criteria: have the ability to record 2000 SPS, operating software must be extensible and programmable so it can be customized by the user, multiple systems must be able to operate together (pass data seamlessly), data logger must be capable of secure data transmissions, and data logger must be a browers-based system. No other products are known to exist that can meet the requirement. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services/supplies shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contracting Officer no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is NOT an RFQ. All responsible sources may submit a response which, if timely received, will be considered by the agency. This notice and any resulting contract or order conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 05-38 (effective 10 DEC 09).
