Description
Native Plants Native Species RECOVERY - Request for Quotes for Plant Material Production The USFS is soliciting quotes for the production of 10,000 seedlings for reforestation activities at El Yunque NF as part of the American Recover Act Program. If interested, send an email to larivera@fs.fed.us to receive an invitation to attend a pre-quote meeting to be held on 10 Feb 2010. Native Plant Material Project Scope of work 1- To produce 10,000 seedlings of trees and/or shrubs from wildlings or seeds. 2- Species must be selected from the list supplied by EYNF and quantities per species will be established between supplier of services and EYNF. 3-Material can be supplied in stagered fashion of 6, 12 or18 month once contract is agreed, and in quantities not less than 1,000 seedling per event. 4-Seedlings should have at least 18" of height from root collar, free of insect damage and desease and free of any weeds at time of supply. 5- Material should be planted in 1 gallon capacity containers or polyurethane bags. 6- Growing media should be a mixture of 1/3 river sand, 1/3 soil and 1/3 of pro-mix, peatmoss or compost. Also a 100% commercial growing media containing no soil or sand can be used. 7- Supplier can invoice the FS each batch of plants supplied based on a rate previously agreed per tree until final amount of 10,000 is reached. 8- Material will be supplied at the Catalina Service Station on Rd 191 KM 4.4
