This task is a research and development effort to provide systems engineering and systemintegration to assist in the development of a follow-on instrument to the MODIS AirborneSimulator (MAS). The Enhanced MAS or EMAS will provide important measurements in supportof ongoing calibration and validation activities for the MODIS instruments, whilesupporting the development of algorithms for future spaceborne systems. The system willbe composed of 3 subsystems that together will provide high quality measurements ofatmospheric constituents by measuring absorption, scattering and reflectance of incomingsolar radiation. This new system might eventually replace NASAs MODIS Airborne Simulator(MAS,) with higher quality measurements than are currently available within the agency.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal; this announcement is forinformational purposes only.
