THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLEONLY TO STINGER GHAFFARIAN TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED (SGT, INC.) UNDER CONTRACT NUMBERNNA08CG83C FOR INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) AT NASA AMESRESEARCH CENTER (ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA. THIS IS AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009 (ARRA). ARC intends to issue Task Order65, titled Emergency Planning for Damaged Aircraft (EPDA). Task Order 65 supports NASARecovery Act work sponsored by the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) andthe Aviation Safety Program (ASP). Research funded by Recovery Act within the ASP willfocus on developing innovative tools, concepts, methods, and technologies that willimprove the intrinsic safety attributes of current and future aircraft and aviationoperations. The Integrated Intelligent Flight Deck (IIFD) Project focuses on thechallenges of aircraft automation functions in the NextGen environment with particularattention to the potential for safety and capacity increases in the terminal area. Insupport of these efforts, the contractor shall extend improvements to a prototype tool(the the Emergency Landing PlannerELP) that will allow pilots to quickly see andevaluate the best possible emergency landing sites when damage or failures occur at anairport. This task will be funded by the Recovery Act. A contract modification will beissued to fully fund Task Order 65.The Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support (ISRDS) contract numberNNA08CG83C was made on a competitive basis. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. This announcement will not result in a Request for Proposal. This announcement is forinformational purposes only.
