THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ON OR AROUND FEBRUARY 13, 2010. NO OTHER INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE BEFORE THE SOLICITATION IS POSTED. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Job Corps intends to procure the services of a General Contractor (GC) to carry out the following improvements & miscellaneous repairs at the Brunswick Job Corps Center, Brunswick, Georgia: gymnasium floor; ceramic tile in showers; gymnasium walls, ceilings and roof repairs and paint; exhaust ventilation in toilet room; ceiling diffusers within dorm; ventilation in the horticultural training storage area; exhaust ventilation at restroom in the horticulture vocational classroom; exhaust ventilation in toilet rooms (both body shop & HVAC shop) in the vocational building. The extent of work will be described within the Scope of Work. The proposed method of procurement will be HUBZone Competition. Upon issuance of the solicitation/RFP, all offerors must have their HUBZone certification. The period of performance will begin within 10 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and shall be completed within approximately 238 calendar days. The estimated cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 Million. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) currently has a program that can provide surety bond gurantee on a Federal contract to small businesses up to $10M.
