Description
Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting this construction requirement. The construction need is relative to Project No. 657CA2313C entitled Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Phase 1A Development, located in St. Louis, Missouri. The performance period for this contract is expected to be July 2010 December 2011 (18 months). This project will develop approximately 20 acres within the expansion area and the existing cemetery to include approximately 10,000 pre-placed concrete crypts and approximately 6000 columbarium niches. This project will also include access roads; an entrance area; flag/assembly area; a committal shelter; retaining walls, road system; parking; utilities; signage; site furnishings; fencing; irrigation system; utility distribution system; environmental preservation and mitigation. The estimated cost range for this project is between $10,000,000 - $20,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought announcement. Responses must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety); and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size, scope and dollar amount (minimum 3). You are required to E-mail your responses to the Contracting Officer (Derek Underwood) at Derek.Underwood2@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm EDT on February 12, 2010, and in the subject line state Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery and Company Name. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
