Description
Draft Drawings Special Notice The Umatilla National Forest will be advertising an Aquatic Organism Passage Improvement project for implementation in 2010. This project is the Touchet Corral Culvert Replacement project and the intent of this Special Notice is to increase the probability for a successful procurement of this construction project by providing advance notification as there is a very tight in-stream work window for project accomplishment. The draft drawings of this project are attached. Anticipated Synopsis Date: on or about March 15, 2010 Anticipated Solicitation Date: on or about March 30, 2010 Anticipated Due Date: on or about April 15, 2010 Project Start Date: approximately May 01, 2010 The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife in-stream work window for this location is July 15th to August 20th. It is anticipated that work will be completed within this work window. Solicitation Number: AG-04M3-S-10-0006 Anticipate awarding Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract between $100,000 and $250,000. Project Location: Touchet Corral is located approximately 20 miles south of Dayton, WA. Head south on Touchet RD for 20 miles, turn onto Forest Road 6400700. The stream crossing is immediately after the intersection of Rd 64 and Rd 6400700. Project Background: The Touchet River passes under Forest road 6400700 through a 6ft diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP). This structure currently is a barrier to T&E and native fish. Project Description: This project include the removal of the above mentioned existing culvert and the installation of a precast/prefabricated structure. Also included is stream simulation work in the channel. This work includes placing rock for steps and streambed. De-watering is required for this project which includes re-directing the river for the duration of the project and installing erosion and pollution controls devices during installation of the new structure and stream simulation work.
