THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLEONLY TO STINGER GHAFFARIAN TECHNOLOGIES INCORPORATED (SGT, INC.) UNDER CONTRACT NUMBERNNA08CG83C FOR INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT (ISRDS) AT NASA AMESRESEARCH CENTER (ARC) LOCATED AT MOFFETT FIELD, CA. THIS WAS AUTHORIZED UNDER THEAMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENTACT OF 2009. ARC issued Task Order 61, titled SupportUnmanned Air Systems (UAS) Research in Intelligent Contingency Planning under the abovestated contract. Task Order 61 supports NASA Recovery Act work sponsored by theAeronautics Research Mission Directorate and the Airspace Systems Program. The purposeof the task is the development of a list of research and development requirements thatwill guide how future unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) can safely operate in nationalairspace. The research of this task will focus on how UAS can safely recover from anemergency like losing communication links or losing an engine.The result of this taskis research and documentation, some of which NASA may incorporate into larger agencydeliverables to external government partners. This task was funded by the Recovery Act. A contract modification was issued to fully fund Task Order 61 under the above contract.<P>The Intelligent Systems Research and Development Support (ISRDS) contract numberNNA08CG83C was made on a competitive basis. <P>This announcement is for informational purposes only.
